Reiki healing is the delivery of universal energy to an entity (human, animal, plant, planet, …) and letting the entity’s natural processes steer the healing which generally means that the healing takes place where it is most needed, being physical, mental, emotional and more.
Having completed 3 months of Western Reiki training, a long weekend Japanese Reiki training and over 20 hours of actual Reiki practice the following thoughts and experiences can be shared:
From Reiki training:
Reiki teaches you that we all have a healing ability. Some more than other. It also teaches that our hands can feel energy as well as transfer healing energy. Using your hands is not the only technique for healing as there are other methods for instance the utilization of crystals. It teaches that with love in your heart you can assist anyone even when they try their best to block you. Healing is best with physical contact although it can be done over vast distances as well – this is no theory as a heart operation patient was assisted remotely leading to accelerated recovery. Peace and tranquility in your own heart enables one to assist others so much more as the healing energy is channeled into the patient with little to no interference from your own body, mind and soul. A big lesson is that when a great healing energy meets a strong toxicity one experiences a glowing heat in the physical area of healing. Another pleasant confirmation was that we never walk alone meaning we have a “guardian angel” looking after us permanently where this guarding entity is more often a transitioned (deceased) family member. Another surprise during training was the range of people attending, be it for self development or the drive to assist others. It is good to see the interest in gaining more knowledge that can assist the soul. Lastly, healing can also be done on one self, Reiki healing is not just the domain of healing others.
Disclaimer 🙂
Reiki practitioners aren’t allowed to diagnose an illness or condition. For a diagnosis the patient has to be sent to a medical specialist. This is due to the country’s laws and the liability connected to delivering an incorrect diagnosis. That said, Reiki healing can be used to address most mental, emotional and physical illnesses. This would include physical injury – new or old, illness like cancer and dealing with the influence of the karma brought onto themselves.
From personal experience:
Channeling healing energy from the universe into a patient is a wonderful experience. One requires the assistance of your spiritual support as well as the patient’s spiritual support. All healing takes place in harmony. Experiencing the energy imbalance in the patients body in one’s hands can take the shape of heat, a tingle, a pulse or levels of pain. This is very helpful in measuring the healing progress as well as measuring the severity of the energy imbalance. Energy has to be treated like water, it has to be allowed to flow naturally. When your hands apply too much pressure the natural flow becomes restricted and the healing efficiency reduces.
Patients have a range of different experiences during the treatment. Some see colors. Some interact with their support. Some reach a deep level of relaxation. Some become emotional. Each patient’s experience is different. Some deny the effectiveness of the Reiki treatment and in the end concede as the healing speaks for itself. At the end of the treatment patients have to “come back to earth”/be grounded. They have to adjust to their physical environment as they were in “another space”. Being able to scan the patient’s body from head to toe to identify areas needing attention is both wonderful and surprising to the patients. The glowing warm sensation (healing) in their bodies concern them but they trust the assurance that this is good as it is an indication of the healing
Lastly, healing is not measured in time. Healing sessions can take anywhere from a few minutes to slightly over an hour. It is not a massage that is a fixed amount of time. The universe supplies energy in alignment with the entity’s/patient’s path and one can but only follow the intended natural flow. Some healing sessions deliver a strong flow of universal energy for a short duration and some a more gentle flow over a longer period. Some sessions might deliver almost no healing as that is what the universe has decided for the entity. Some sessions require healing in various areas and the flow differ from area to area. In the end, the healer is just the middleman or the messenger during the healing session.
Light, Life and Love of the God of my heart be with you all!
