A theory on the Supreme Being:
God, Zeus, Jehovah, Allah, El, Buddha, Odin, Amun-Ra, … Which one is right, which one is wrong?
Firstly. What happens when you have 2 captains on a ship trying to manage all the operations independently? Do you have order or chaos? Taking this notion of a single “captain” required to run a “ship”, how many gods would be at the “helm” running the universe? The answer appears to be a resounding One. Look at the way the universe grows. Look at the way our solar system functions with the planets appearing to be in harmonious orbits. Look at how life evolved on Earth. It does appear that we have order and purpose surrounding us! In the assessment remove the behaviour of humans as we have free will which is a double edge sword bringing about good and bad.
Now if one culture calls the Supreme Being by one name and another culture calls Him by another and so do another 100 cultures, does it change the fact that there is just One Supreme Being? Does it matter how we address (by name) the Supreme Being? The answer resoundingly appears to be No. Each individual is unique and they would express themselves just as uniquely. It would make life easier for all when we realise that we stand together in our praise for the same Supreme Being using our unique expression to address Him. It would also mean that we can learn from other religions as each would have their own wisdom.
Why Preserver/Nurturer/Destroyer? It is the trinity. Most religions make mention of the trinity. No further comment will be made on the trinity in this post.
Destroyer. A father would teach his children lessons thru taking objects or experiences away from them. This could be for reasons like punishment, to force them to be exposed to other experiences or to bring about something new. The Destroyer would bring about an end, some might seem good and some bad, yet all would serve a great purpose in our lives. Never see the Destroyer as a negative force as you’ll miss the true meaning of the action and the love that goes with it.
Preserver. Some principles, some practices, some beliefs, some lifestyle dynamics and more have to be maintained for stability and growth. Here we receive support from the Supreme Being to maintain our lifestyle, mind-set and so much more.
Nurture. At times we require support for growth. Growth in our lives, in our beliefs, in a new venture and so many more scenarios. Here the Supreme Being would “hold our hand” and assist us during the challenging times to achieve our growth.
